From
this nucleus the ensemble expands on a project-by-project basis, adding
singers, bowed strings, wind, brass, and other continuo instruments as
required.
Committed to historical performance, the ensemble believes that, far from being an academic cul-de-sac, developing authenticity leads to more exciting and convincing performances of early music. In Echo
therefore represents a movement of musicians, all of whom perform with
the world's leading ensembles and who share the belief that the early
music revival is an ongoing revolution.
